Made from 100% Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic percale cotton, this isn’t a fabric blend. Instead, it’s the name of a type of weave specifically used when making bed linen. Here the cotton is woven in a criss-cross pattern, which enables the threads to be woven more tightly. This gives a light, crisp, and durable finish to your sheets.
The independent GOTS certification demonstrates that The Woolroom’s bedding is organic and free from potentially harmful chemicals which can be found in conventional textile production. It also ensures that The Woolroom’s products are made in safe working conditions, with no discrimination and no child labour.

As the name suggests, Ethical Bedding specialises in, well, ethical bedding. I’m always wary of self-proclaimed brands, however, I’ve taken a look at Ethical Bedding’s sustainability practices and I have to say that I like what I see.
Ethical Bedding makes its range of duvet covers, flat sheets, fitted sheets and pillowcases from Tencel – a more sustainable fabric that is produced from eucalyptus fibres. Don’t like the idea of sleeping in wood? Don’t worry, Tencel is a silky soft and luxurious vegan-friendly fabric that’s highly breathable.
As a certified B-Corp, this independent certification ensures that Ethical Bedding meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
What this means in practice is that Ethical Bedding has a completely transparent supply chain, and pays its workers more than a fair living wage. It also ensures fair working conditions through personal visits and third-party accreditations. The only thing is I’m not sure where it makes its bedding. I have asked and will update here when I have more information.
