ethical gift ideas for mums

Mother’s Day is fast approaching (Sunday 15th March) and I’ve been on the hunt for some ethical gift ideas for mums.  I’ve covered all aspects – from booze (Edinburgh Gin is my favourite!) to fashion; from homewares and to pretty accessories.  Now the hard part is deciding which one to get for my mum!

All the ethical gift ideas suggested in this post are under £30, and start at just £10 as I like to keep things budget friendly around these parts!

From Clockwise:

Ophelia Beaded Necklace (£19.95) from Mimosa Street – sparkly and beautiful and fairtrade.

Picture Frame (from £12.95) from Decorator’s Notebook – I love these copper frames, they’d look lovely in any interior.  Fill with old photos or old memories for a really thoughtful gift.

Breton Top* (£24.90) from Braintree Clothing* – Every lady needs a good breton top in their life.  This one is no exception.

Elderflower Liquer (£17.99) from Edinburgh Gin – perfect for making Mother’s Day cocktails. Is that a thing?  I say it should be!

Floral Scarf (£29.95) from Seasalt – I love the William Morris feel to this pretty scarf.

To Kill A Mockingbird Brooch* (£10) from Etsy – if your mum is excited about the new Harper Lee book!

Linen Pouch* (£10) from Etsy  – I love this so much and might have to sneakily buy this as a gift from me to me.  It’s listed as a sewing and crafting pouch, but I’d probably use it to store my makeup or other bits and bobs.

If all else fails then why not head to your local florist and pick up a pretty bunch of spring flowers?  UK grown bluebells, hyacinths, iris and tulips are all in season in March and make a lovely choice for a spring bouquet!
