seventh generation cleaning products

Seventh Generation Giveaway!

seventh generation cleaning products

I love making my own cleaning products but there are a couple of things I haven’t been able to crack yet (hello washing up liquid).  Then there are a couple of things I like to keep under the sink (like laundry detergent) for when I run out of a particular cleaning product and don’t have the raw ingredients to hand to immediately whip up a new batch.  For these I keep eco-friendlier brands in supply.

Needless to say I was quite excited to hear that selected products from Seventh Generation, the popular US eco friendly cleaning product brand, are now being sold in the UK at larger Tesco stores nationwide, as well as online.

Seventh Generation, with a near 30 year history, pride themselves on their effective plant based cleaning products, and transparent labeling, so you know exactly what’s in each bottle.  What you won’t find are any nasties – such as dyes or artificial brighteners in their laundry detergents – just honest ingredients that work.

To celebrate this launch I’ve teamed up with Seventh Generation to give away a Seventh Generation hamper to one lucky Moral Fibres reader.  This person will win all the products pictured above – the washing up liquid, toilet cleaner, all purpose spray, window and glass cleaner, 4x concentrated laundry liquid and laundry liquid – to try out for themselves.

seventh generation UK

I’ve been giving their products a go and have to say I’m mightily impressed.  With packaging made from biodegradable or 100% recycled materials, and ingredients suitable for those with the most sensitive of skins it’s not hard to see why Seventh Generation have been so popular in the US.  I’ve especially enjoyed the laundry detergent and washing up liquid – these are scent free but tough on dirt and grease.  I’m sure whoever wins this lovely hamper will love it!

To enter take part via the Rafflecopter widget below.  Please note the giveaway is only open to UK residents:

As an added bonus, up until 15th July 2017, you can also get £3 off the Seventh Generation laundry range by entering code GRXN7Y at the checkout when you buy online from Tesco.

Good luck!

  1. Like you I like to make my own cleaning products but there are some instances where I struggle. Again washing-up liquid that I currently refill but I can’t always get to the shop that does it when I run out as it requires a special trip or combining with another errand. I use soap nuts for laundry in the main but need something for those pet items or things with tougher stains etc. So am on the look out for eco shop bought options as a supplement to my homemade cleans everything vinegar based cleaner and would love to try these out.

I like to use as many natural products without the added harmful ingredients as possible and it’s great to see things coming out of the U.S. that believe in the same thing despite what their leader says…it’s more important than ever to take care of our precious planet – it’s the only home we’ve got. x

  15. I choose eco-products off the shelf. There are a few brands in supermarkets and the likes of Holland and Barratt available. Some products are really good, just as good as big brands full of nasties but I’m always on the lookout for new ranges. Like you, although I don’t make my own, I’m on the hunt for a really good washing up liquid.

  22. My little boy gets terrible bouts of eczema. I am finding that by slowly eliminating (where possible) unnecessary chemicals from our home and diet, his skin is improving. Plus he has been learning about protecting the environment at school, and realises how important recycling and the use of eco packaging is. Although at the moment most of our packaging goes into his crafting projects. 😀

  27. I’d love to try this new brand. I had been experimenting with making my own cleaning products and using mostly vinegar, but have had mixed success! Recently I made a washing up liquid but it wasn’t really tough enough to degrease and my husband/ in laws said I should just go and buy one. I’m currently trying ecover – my husband has said in the past that he doesn’t think it works very well though. I am also really concerned about the recyclability/ biodegradability of the packaging.

I can quite understand why folk are so pleased to see another eco product available in the U.K. but as it has to be imported from the States, it is not ecological from the point of view of the transport required to get it from the US to here, is it? Aren’t there *any* ecological products produced in the U.K?
