Wondering where to buy liquid castile soap in the UK? Here are my favourite places to pick up this all-natural staple for all your cleaning, body care and household needs.

After using it for years, I’ve found that liquid castile soap has so many uses. Whether you’re cleaning your home, caring for your skin, or caring for your plants, there are a myriad of uses. So much so, that I wouldn’t be without it!

Whether I’m making all-purpose cleaning sprays or tackling dirty floors, it’s one of the first products I reach for.

If you are looking to incorporate the wonder that is liquid castile soap into your life then here’s where to shop for castile soap.

Where To Buy Liquid Castile Soap

Here are my favourite places to pick up this all-natural household staple – from branded Dr Bronner’s liquid castile soap to the cheaper unbranded versions – with prices updated for 2025.

Big Green Smile

Big Green Smile offers one of the widest selections of Dr. Bronner’s liquid castile soaps that I’ve found in the UK. With ten scents – from tea tree and citrus to eucalyptus, rose, cherry blossom, and even unscented – plus a variety of bottle sizes, it’s usually my first stop when buying soap.

Prices range from £10.30 for 240 ml bottles and £15.95 for 475 ml bottles (the best value, in my opinion – it works out at £3.36 per 100 ml compared with £4.29 per 100 ml for the smaller bottle), to £82.40 for MASSIVE 3.8 litre jugs of the stuff.

I just buy the small and medium sized bottles – it’s very concentrated so you only need a little at a time. I’ve never found a reason to buy the big version, but it’s always handy to know it’s there!

Holland & Barrett

Holland & Barrett is another stockist that carries a range of Dr Bronner’s liquid castile soap. Here you’ll find larger-sized 945 ml bottles, in a smaller range of scents (six at the time of writing), all priced at £24.99. This is really good value – it works out at £2.64 per 100 ml.

Whilst the selection is a lot smaller than at Big Green Smile, it is handy if you are stocking up on budget-friendly eco beauty products and need to add on a bottle of castile soap for your green cleaning needs.

Ethical Superstore

Ethical Superstore also stocks a small range of Dr Bronner’s liquid castile soap. Here you’ll find both the citrus scented soap in a handy 475 ml bottles and lavender liquid castile soap in the massive 3.8-litre bottle. Prices for these range from £15.49 to £79.99.

As it carries such a small range, I personally find Ethical Superstore a good option when I’m buying other ethical or eco-friendly goods, and happen to need a bottle of liquid castile soap too.

Etsy

Finally, if you are looking to specifically buy unbranded liquid castile soap then Etsy is a great place to go for picking up larger quantities of soap at lower prices. Here you can find a litre of soap for around £12 (at the time of writing).

To compare a 3.8-litre bottle Dr Bronner’s soap costs around £80. At £12 for a litre of unbranded soap, to buy 3.8 litres works out at £45.60. It’s a huge cost difference – nearly half the price.

I don’t buy liquid castile soap in this quantity though. I haven’t found any need for my general household needs – so unfortunately I’m unable to compare the quality of the castile soap. If it’s something I do try though, I’ll be sure to update here with my experiences.

You might be wondering why Etsy. You might associate the platform as a place to go when looking to buy goods handcrafted by makers and artisans. However, it’s a little-known fact that Etsy is also a great place to shop for supplies – particularly supplies for making body care products. Hence why Etsy has a huge range of unbranded liquid castile soap available, at great prices.
